Victim's name released in Highway 6 crash

Oregon State Police say 21-year-old Haila Cheryl Ann Ruhl was killed in a crash on Highway 6 Monday morning.

She was driving a 2006 Subaru Impreza and was passing two cars when she lost control, hit a guardrail and crashed 40 feet down a hillside into a creek.

She was wearing seatbelts and the car's airbags deployed, but she had died when emergency responders arrived.

OSP troopers from the Tillamook office are conducting the investigation. Trooper Sarah Reding is the lead investigator. Speed is being investigated as a possible contributing factor.
